2 2 2 cups sugar
1/2 cup light Karo syrup
2 cups water
1 teaspoon peppermint extract
a few drops red or green food coloring
Heat sugar, Karo and water in medium saucepan to 350 degrees on a candy thermometer. Lower heat to 300 degrees. Add peppermint extract and food coloring. Pour onto cookie sheet with sides that is dusted with powdered sugar. When cool, crack into pieces.
